ABOUT THE STUDIO
Intentional. Functional. Refined…with a Vibe
We value people, relationships and peaceful living. To honor those values, we work to discover your unique story so that our designs create a home that feels distinctly yours, makes you proud and fosters togetherness with the ones you love for every chapter of your life.
With a process that is clear and systematic, you will stay informed and excited at every step as we bring our designs to life.
Meet Destini
During the pandemic, Destini started not one-but two new journeys.
After 19 years as a K-12 educator and leader, I began homeschooling my oldest daughter. Within a few short months, I found myself uncovering the art and science of interior design while secretly remodeling my mother's home-and I never looked back.
What began as 'Mission Impossible' (or so I was told) became my new calling. I soon came to realize that my two worlds weren't that different: whether leading a school or designing a custom build, I am creating environments where people have the space to grow, thrive, and become who they are meant to be.
Today, as the owner and Principal Designer of Designed by Destini, I leverage my background in education, computer science, and information systems to build the foundation every successful project requires:
- Custom Design Solutions
- Effective Project & Vendor Management
- Quality Client Experience & Communication
One of my superpowers is reimaging and transforming awkward structural layouts into high-functioning spaces. I love when homeowners and contractors call on me to help them redesign spaces where a wall needs to be taken down, two rooms joined or when a home addition is the solution. As a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, I work with families ready to create their forever home and those who need to make modifications so that their homes are suitable for them throughout all the many phases of their lives.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me, my husband, and my two "little design assistants in training" (whom I still homeschool) dinking and smacking balls on pickleball courts near and far.
Design with Purpose
And if this isn't enough to keep my life full, I also serve as the President of Giving Back by Design, a nonprofit organization I founded in 2023. Our mission is to provide hard-working, low-income families with the transformative power of interior design through home makeovers and furnishings grants.
By partnering with us to make your dream home a reality, 5% of your design fees are automatically donated to Giving Back by Design.
